STADIA INTERIOR DESIGN
We met the team at Chester Racecourse at a stadium business summit, and they had a clear vision - transform their practical hospitality boxes into something truly special. These spaces had all the basics covered but were crying out for character and identity. They were essentially blank canvases waiting for the right story.
The brief was brilliant in its simplicity: create spaces that feel authentically Chester - steeped in racing heritage but with a fresh, modern edge. Most importantly, they needed to work hard, catering for 24-30 guests whether it's the excitement of race day or a corporate event.
We were particularly drawn to the concept of colour-drenching these spaces. Drawing inspiration from Chester's new branding, we went bold with deep greens and rich reds, then grounded everything with beautiful walnut finishes. The result? Spaces that feel warm and inviting - traditional yet completely contemporary.

HERITAGE
TRANSFORMATION
FLEXIBILITY

Every piece of joinery was designed specifically for these boxes. We created bespoke modern panelling with reeded detailing that feels both sophisticated and welcoming. The brass finishes add that premium touch, whilst our decorative lighting around the bar areas brings everything to life. We even integrated digital screens that can flip between artwork, betting information, and live sports - pretty clever, we think.
Each box also celebrates Chester's heritage through considered naming - The Lily Agnes Suite and The Watergate Suite - honouring iconic horses and architectural features from the racecourse's rich history. We made sure the space planning worked brilliantly, with distinct dining and bar zones that flow naturally but can adapt to whatever the day demands. And yes, we kept sustainability front of mind with Interface flooring, real plants throughout, and sustainable fabrics.

PROJECT TEAM
“We loved working on this project because it was all about finding that perfect balance. These spaces needed to feel like they belonged at Chester - somewhere you'd expect to find at a racecourse with such incredible history - but they also had to feel fresh and exciting for today's guests. Each box ended up with its own personality, which creates this lovely sense of discovery and exclusivity. Getting that mix of heritage and contemporary design just right was the real challenge, but that's exactly what makes these spaces feel both special and timeless.”
